SHOW NOTES - episode 038: Show from Bangalore, India.

Bangalore India. Bangalore is India’s fifth largest city and the capital of the State of Karnataka. A bustling metropolis and widely known as India’s Silicon Valley. The city has several historic monuments, is called the Garden City and has wide streets filled with the ubiquitous tuk-tuk which PodAsia takes a tour in (left) around the city for a sound scene tour.

Bangalore is the main hub for those wanting to branch outside of the area. From Bangalore, you can visit the provinces of Mysore, Hampi, Belur amongst others.

Bangalore International Airport sucks! It is still under construction. Following endless government and airport authority negotiations the project, which was first conceived in 1993, started its first phase in January 2005. The preliminary construction work and preparation is already underway and the project is still on schedule to complete Phase 1 by September 2007. But in the meantime life is hell for the business traveller when leavng Bangalore as most flights leave at midnight!

Sound tour and travel advise of Bangalore Airport terminal and the International airlines including Lufthansa and Malaysian Airline System are already flying to Bangalore, but the absence of an international airport is seen as a barrier to its growth. When the new airport finally becomes operational the operators from the airport will be:

• Lufthansa
• Malaysian Airlines
• Singapore Airlines
• Sri Lankan Airlines
