One Response to “067 - Singapore Medical Emergency”

  1. Paul Ruppert Says:

    Matthew,
Congratulations on the brirth of your daughter!
As to hospitals while traveling, the best “plan” is to get ill at your hotel. About 4 years ago on August 29th I was doggedly sick at the Singapore Mandarin Oriental. I advised the front desk and they sent a lovely member of their staff to take me to a local doctor’s office, wait for me while I was diagnosed and dispensed with a flight of antibiotics, cold medicine, etc., then escorted me back to my hotel. The following day I felt enormously better. The staff called three times during the day to ensure of my health and kept asking if I was going to visit the executive club–but I was slaving away for “da man” because of my lost day. At about 7 pm I was summoned to a knock at my door. Four lovely staffers presented me with a present and wished my “Happy Birthday!” It had slipped by that the day was August 30th. I’ll never forget it. The Ying and the Yang of timing and health.
