VISIT AND ACCOMODATION The 88 room Hulhule Island Hotel on the North Atol, Maldives claims to be a remote "Island Resort". Sadly it is not. It is actually located about 200m from the north south runway of the Male International Airport! You will hear the occassional roar of a passenger or freighter jet taking off.

BARS/CAFE: JADE BISTRO REVIEW When on the mainland of Male, there is Jade Bistro. For free wi-fi this is a great place to visit. The other bonus is that there’s lots of expats so when you need that refreshment of westernisation - here it is. Jade is located very close (about 200m) to all the jetties for transfer to the north atol and it is fantastic that Jade opens whilst other shops close for prayers!
I also met a wonderful pilot here who also loved Macintosh computers - bliss! But that is another story… We wouldn’t say that Jade is the cheapest but they have terrific smoothies, coffee and a good menu to choose from. Give them a go and I am sure you won’t be disapointed.

Joshua discharged from hospital this week after his collapse last week. Thanks to the Doctors (again) at Gleneagles Hospital. The little man is home and decides to paint his Daddy - also known as Professor Poddy!
